Welcome! I am a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley, where I study Political Theory, the History of Political Thought, and Intellectual History.
I am currently completing a dissertation on the politics of vice, tracing its history from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. I am also interested in the history of the concept of society; the relationship between early modern sovereignty and theology; and sixteenth-century Italian political thought. For more details, see the Research page.
My research has appeared or is forthcoming in journals including The American Political Science Review, History of Political Thought, The Historical Journal, Studi storici, Rivista di storia della filosofia, and Rinascimento, as well as in a number of edited volumes (see Publications).
Before coming to Berkeley, I studied at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa). While attending it, I also received BA (2019) and MA (2021) degrees from the University of Pisa and spent one year (2020-2021) as an Erasmus Affiliate Student at UCL (London).
